Who We Are & What We Do

We're a group of companions, some old and some new, on a soul-bound quest to create a bit of heaven on earth. We're bringing to market a creative collection of sweet treats that delight the senses and are good for the body too.

Our purpose is to make the business of food and beverage more about nurturing and sustenance — nurturing the spiritual and sustaining the physical — and less about profit. Our ministry is healing. We're in it for the joy of growth and inspiration, for the abundance of sharing that joy, and for the health of anyone who has ever been tempted by the sweet things in life.

Three Companions, One Quest

Alexandra Djuric, Cofounder and Design Lead

Alexandra Djuric

Cofounder, Design Lead

Alex is a certified web designer with a university background in computer science. Over the years, she gained work experience in both the public and private sector and held versatile roles from administration to the coordination of humanitarian projects to interpretation. She exhibited her passion for culinary sweetness and creativity at a very young age. At the age of eleven, she started making her first delicious desserts without using any recipes. As a young adult, while contemplating sharing her passion through a chocolate business, she started being aware of and concerned about the negative impacts of sugar on our health. That prompted her to research this topic and get involved in some meaningful way, and she joined the team at Wellness House to make it happen.

Alex is the branding and design specialist. She builds the website, crafts the consumer-facing identity of Wellness Gourmet, and contributes ideas to product development and consumer experience.

As a child, she loved large-scale games and puzzles: the challenge of fitting together ordinary pieces to achieve an extraordinary result has always intrigued her. She has the insight needed to establish movement from fragmented data to high-level outcomes.

Her skills for building capacity and managing grant funding in the domains of health and entrepreneurship have been well honed through her work with NGOs, CANGO, World Vision, and various government ministries in Eswatini. She is thrilled to now be “tending her own plant” and is enthusiastic about leading Wellness Gourmet to commercial success.

Lulu is the business lead. She is forging the corporate identity of Wellness Gourmet by creating relationships in the business ecosystem and packaging research findings and fever dreams into commercially viable containers.

Cindy is a classic alchemist. When her parents were too nervous to buy her a chemistry set, she shopped the local pharmacy with her paper route money and set up a secret lab in her walk-in closet. As a cook, she tends to follow her taste buds in place of a recipe and rarely uses a measuring cup. She's fascinated with creating and exploring, and she's been dreaming about a food startup for almost 10 years.

Her work experience has spanned research (20 years), tech marketing (10 years), and entrepreneurship (10 years). Her formal studies have been in psychology, neuroscience, computer engineering, and coaching at the intersection of physical and spiritual health. She cares deeply about the wellbeing of her cofounders and future customers.

Cindy is the technical builder. She powers the startup vehicle with research findings, technical tools, and strategic vision.
